Breakfast Pockets
We love breakfast for dinner, who doesn't, but sometimes it's nice to change up the same old biscuit and sausage gravy. So here's an alternative that the whole family is sure to love, sausage and cheese wrapped in a biscuit with peppered country gravy for dipping.
Ingredients:
1 lb country sausage
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 can Pillsbury Grands biscuits (8 count)
1 cup shredded cheese
1 package pepper country gravy
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook sausage with onion powder and pepper. Drain.
Mix gravy according to package directions.
Beat egg with 1 tbsp of water.
Place biscuits between two sheets of parchment paper and roll out into discs approximately 6" in diameter. You can hand stretch them to finish. They stretch easier if at room temperature.
Layer 2 tbsp cheese and 1/8 of sausage onto flattened biscuit.
Fold over and pinch edges tightly.
Space pockets out on baking sheet, they will puff so be sure to give them room. Brush tops of pockets with egg wash.
Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with a bowl of gravy for dipping and your other favorite breakfast items.
