Easy French Dips
Makes 3 or 4 servings
1 lb roast beef deli meat, thinly sliced
3-4 sub rolls
1 packet au jus mix (I recommend Johnny's Au Jus which is a concentrate that comes in a little bottle)
4 slices provolone cheese or 1 cup mozzarella cheese
Additional toppings: sliced red onion, banana pepper rings
Heat up au jus in saucepan. Add roast beef slices and heat through.
Split rolls open, layer cheese along open faces of roll, and bake in oven until cheese is melted and roll is toasted.
Just top rolls with roast beef slices and serve au jus along side.
Seriously it's that easy. Now there's no reason to spend all your money at Arby's.
Easy French Dips
Ever heard the term semi-homemade? Well I'm not sure that this recipe is quite homemade enough to even be that BUT it's a great one to have because it's so easy. Great for families, especially busy parents. You can have all the ingredients on hand if you want to freeze a "meal packet" with rolls, cheese slices, and slicedroast beef.
It came to be because our grocery store rarely runs the roast beef deli meat on sale and when they do they run out quickly. So I started getting extra and freezing it in 1lb portions. When I need a quick supper or need to use up some sub rolls I just thaw out the roast beef in au jus and assemble the sandwiches.
