All you need is 1 lb of dough for 3 or 4 servings. Just divide the dough and let it sit to rest.
Heat the indoor grill to hight heat. Spray with nonstick spray before each dough.
Stretch or roll the dough to a size just smaller than the grill, close the lid, and cook for 5-8 minutes depending on preferred crispiness.
The closed lid helps keep the dough at an even thickness as it expands.
Top each pizza with your favorites then broil or bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and the toppings are heated through.
My pizza (shown here) was topped with pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and fresh basil. A gentle sprinkle of red pepper flake and parmesan cheese adds a little more oomph!
Indoor Grilled Pizza Crust
This isn't a recipe. It's a wonderful technique.
I love pizza and I'm always looking for ways to make a good pizza at home...but I want it to be easy. We've tried homemade dough, premade dough mix, and ready-to-assemble premade crusts but I think this is my new favorite way to enjoy a fresh tasting pizza crust. The secret? Cooking pizza dough on your indoor grill (I used a George Forman). The result is a crust that is both crispy and chewy.
This is super easy. You can use homemade or store bought dough. It doesn't take very long to make and everyone gets their own crust to personalize with toppings. And it's way better for you than ordering delivery!
