Tatertot Casserole

Serves 6-8 (or one husband)

 

Ingredients:

1 (2 lb) bag frozen tater tots

1 lb ground beef

½ cup onion, chopped

1 can cream of mushroom soup

8 oz sour cream

1 pkg ranch dressing mix

4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp course black pepper

seasoning salt to taste

1 cup mozzarella cheese

1 cup cheddar cheese

2 tbsp pickled jalapenos, diced

 

Preheat oven to 375 F.

 

Brown meat with onions. Drain. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, worcestershire, jalapenos, and pepper.

 

Place in 9x13 dish. layer cheese on top of meat mixture, then tater tots. Sprinkle generously with seasoning salt.

 

Bake at 375 ° for 30 min. Turn broiler to high. Broil until reach desired crispiness.

 

 

 

 

Tatertot Casserole

I think this dish became so popular when the Duggars from 19 Kids and Counting made it on their show. They admitted to not even liking it that much and I can understand why. It's pretty boring.

 

However, we decided to bump it up in the flavor scale by adding a few extra ingredients. It definitely made the dish more palatable to us because we love high flavor food.

 

My husband LOVES this dish, actually begs for it because he burnt me out on it so bad I never want to fix it. But occasionally I give in because it's something I know I won't hear a complaint about. Plus it's one of those meals he can easily fix without my help.
